A man accused of running the infamous Cali cocaine cartel pleaded not guilty to drug-trafficking and money-laundering charges amid a fight over payment of legal fees.

A Miami federal judge on Tuesday warned he might throw out the indictment against the alleged boss of the Cali drug cartel — one of the largest organized crime syndicates in modern history — if it appears the federal government is interfering with his choice of attorney.
